Set in the year 2035 where robots are common assistants and workers for their human owners. The robot will follow these 3 laws: 1) A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm, 2) A robot must obey orders givein to it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law and 3) A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law. Well, laws are made to be broken!
The story is based on the book of the same title by ISAAC ASIMOV. It starts at the with the "robotophobic" Chicago Police Detective John Spooner's (Smith) investigation into the murder of Dr. Alfred Lanning (James Cromwell), who works at U.S. Robotics, in which a robot, (Tudyk), appears to be implicated, even though that would mean the robot had violated the Three Laws of Robotics, which is apparently impossible. With the help of Susan Calvin (Bridget Moynahan) who had helped to develop state of the art household robots and programmed them to behave like human beings. If robots can break those laws, there's nothing to stop them from taking over the world...
