1) Mass Market Paperback Book Daddy's Girl by Harper. A great read by Lisa Scottoline as always. There were twists and turns along the way and it kept me turning the pages. Others have explained the book so I will pass on doing that but it left me wanting to pick up another of her books. I strongly suggest this book if you enjoy this genre.¤

2) Mass Market Paperback Book Daddy's Girl by Harper. Nat (Natalie) Greco was a young teacher attempting to get tenure at the University of Pennsylvania Law School but the attendance in her lecture class in law was so low that she became dejected inwardly, but never letting it show. A fellow professor, Angus Holt, encouraged Nat all he could. Angus taught a clinic at the local prison, Chester County Correctional Institute, a short-term prison for mostly non-violent prisoners, or so it was supposed to be! Angus talked Nat into accompanying him to the prison for his clinic. He told her it was not dangerous and she might learn from it. Things went fine until a loud explosion was heard followed by smoke and sirens going off everywhere in the prison. The entire situation became very dangerous for Nat when one of the inmates grabbed her and was attempting to subdue her, Nat not knowing what his intentions were but imagining the worst, fought him off as much as her small body would allow when Angus finally got her loose. She fled to another room where she discovered a guard appearing to be dead with a sharp object coming from his chest, and a prisoner stretched out also wounded. Another CO (Corrections Officer) was running from the room heading in the direction that Nat had sent him to help Angus. Nat started CPR on the wounded guard but all she did was cause the blood to pump out of him. He uttered his last words to Nat to tell his wife, "It´s under the floor" as Nat had understood his words.

From here the book gets even better, if that´s possible. Nat visits the dead guards wife and, after several visits relays the message to her. However, someone is chasing Nat trying to hurt or kill her. She had made friends of two state troopers while the investigation was ongoing and they tried to help her fight the evil that surrounded her. Nat had a boyfriend, Hank, who was more interested in watching sports in person or on TV and associating with Nat´s brother´s more than paying attention to Nat. She was getting a bit tired of playing second-fiddle! Angus started getting friendly with Nat also and she thought maybe Hank was not the man for her but she wasn´t sure if Angus was either.

The development of the story takes you through a lot of Pennsylvania towns and counties while encountering several law enforcement departments. Eventually Nat became the chased instead of the victim when some evidence showed up that she might have tried to kill the guard´s wife and also a state trooper. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time and was reported as such by several witnesses. While on the run, Nat has many close calls as she tries to prove her innocence and finger the guilty party or parties.

A great book that does not slow down.

3) Mass Market Paperback Book Daddy's Girl by Harper. I became a fan of Lisa Scottoline by reading her series about Bennie and the female law firm. This book had a slow start but quickly added intense suspense. Nat has an overbearing family and a juvenile boyfriend who try to control all aspects of her life. Nat gets caught in a prison riot and the dying words of a prison guard changes her life forever. The words lead to Nat becoming a fugitive and achieving her independence from her family. The twists and turns are plentiful and was an enjoyable reading experience.¤

4) Mass Market Paperback Book Daddy's Girl by Harper. Natalie "Nat" Greco is a disgruntled law professor. Although she is up for tenure, she still finds it difficult to engage her students and her dean is not enthusiastic about her sometimes unorthodox teaching methods. Her personal life is not much better - her relationship with her boyfriend Hank seems to be on cruise control.

This was the first Lisa Scottoline book that I read. I bought a lot of her books off of eBay, and after the first 150 or so pages I was concerned... the characters were likable, but the pace was plodding and the plot did not resemble the exciting-sounding description on the back of the book. Fortunately, the story picked up abruptly. The second half of the book is action-packed, and each chapter ends with a cliff hanger that compels you to read on.

The reason for the corny title of this book is also (somewhat) justified in the second half of the book - Nat is part of a large NJ family in which she is the only daughter and therefore extra special to her father. The title of this book is unfortunate - it implies that this book will deal with pervy incestuous relationships, which is not the case at all.

I would give the first half of this book a 2 out of a 5. However, the second half gets a 4.5 out of 5. Once the story gets cranking, the action sequences and the twists and turns of the plot will keep readers riveted.¤

5) Mass Market Paperback Book Daddy's Girl by Harper. Unfortunately, I can´t say anything good about this vendor because I never received the book. I did contact the merchant and she responded, mostly puzzled that the book did not arrive. And it still hasn´t after a month of waiting and scrambling to borrow the book for a book club discussion on it, so I´m also both puzzled and out the $3.95 shipping charge on a 2 cent purchase. I won´t use this vendor again.¤

6) Mass Market Paperback Book Daddy's Girl by Harper.

Natalie Greco loves being a teacher, even though she can´t keep her students from cruising sex.com during class. She loves her family, too, but her boyfriend fits in better with the football-crazy Grecos than she does. Then a colleague, handsome Angus Holt, talks Nat into teaching a class at a local prison, and her world turns upside down.

A violent prison riot breaks out, and Nat rushes to save the life of a mortally wounded guard whose last words are: "Tell my wife it´s under the floor." Nat delivers the cryptic message, but before she knows it, she´s suspected of murder and hiding from cops and killers alike. She is forced on the run to solve the riddle of the dead man´s last words and to save her own life—and find real love.
