This was a pretty good read overall. I thought the development with the gooseboy was an interesting take, but for the most part it was rather slow reading. I thought the characters were all full and believable, albeit eccentric like most of Maguire´s creations.¤ 2) Paperback Book Mirror Mirror: A Novel by Harper Paperbacks. (This review is based on the audio CD version of this book. It is my understanding that the audio is a word for word representation of the book.)
3) Paperback Book Mirror Mirror: A Novel by Harper Paperbacks. It took about two weeks for the book to arrive. It came in almost new condition. A few of the pages were bent (like a page marker) but it came in very great condition. I would buy from this user again.¤ 4) Paperback Book Mirror Mirror: A Novel by Harper Paperbacks. I agree this was a bit slow, but the writing was beautiful. When compared to the others by GM, it suffers somewhat, but if it was the only book he´d written I´d have been blown away.¤ 5) Paperback Book Mirror Mirror: A Novel by Harper Paperbacks. While this has been my least favorite of the Maguire books that I´ve read (although, admittedly I have not read Lost, which I´ve understood to be not quite Maguire caliber) I am still awarding it 5 stars because it was still one of the most amazing reads! I have said this is in other Maguire reviews, but I love the worlds he creates. The imagery and storytelling is unrivaled. I love that he takes incredible scenarios and makes them totally believable, such as the dwarfs, the apples, etc. All of the magic and fantasy that happens in the worlds Maguire creates seem totally plausible and time and time again I find myself getting wrapped up in his stories. If you´ve never read a Gregory Maguire book, I´d suggest Wicked or Confession of an Ugly Stepsister first, but if you are a fan of Maguires works this will not disappoint at all!¤ 6) Paperback Book Mirror Mirror: A Novel by Harper Paperbacks. The year is 1502, and seven-year-old Bianca de Nevada lives perched high above the rolling hills and valleys of Tuscany and Umbria at Montefiore, the farm of her beloved father, Don Vicente. But one day a noble entourage makes its way up the winding slopes to the farm -- and the world comes to Montefiore. In the presence of Cesare Borgia and his sister, the lovely and vain Lucrezia -- decadent children of a wicked pope -- no one can claim innocence for very long. When Borgia sends Don Vicente on a years-long quest, he leaves Bianca under the care -- so to speak -- of Lucrezia. She plots a dire fate for the young girl in the woods below the farm, but in the dark forest salvation can be found as well ... A lyrical work of stunning creative vision, Mirror Mirror gives fresh life to the classic story of Snow White -- and has a truth and beauty all its own. ¤Page Updated: Robert N.
