1) Audio CD Book Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1) by Listening Library (Audio). but they do suck you in. no pun intended. the writing is basic, the heroine (Bella) can be super annoying, and things can get a little cheesy but i liked all of it. at age 31, i can finally say that i think vampires are awesome.

i read all 4 books and am eagerly awaiting the 5th.

2) Audio CD Book Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1) by Listening Library (Audio). I was given "Twilight" by my teenage niece and took her instructions seriously: "If you read nothing else this year," she breathed, "you have to read this book!" Well I must say, I´m grateful to my niece. As a writer, I routinely fall into editing books as I read them, like it or not. I read "Twilight" in about 24 hours and went on to read the remaining three books of the series in less than a week. And lo and behold, the storyline was so exquisite and captivating that I hardly ever lapsed into my usual editing mode. I am a lifelong avid reader with a (mostly) sophisticated and eclectic reading taste, yet I never once felt that I was slumming by reading what is categorized as a young adult novel. While "Twilight" and the other books in the series may not be high literature, just as I was willing to suspend my belief for the fantasy premise of the book I willingly suspended my inner editor to enjoy the greater good of a thrilling romantic adventure story. "Twilight" reconnected me to the sensitive, dream-addled, romantic young girl that´s an essential base of who I am today. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride.¤

3) Audio CD Book Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1) by Listening Library (Audio). She is a great writer but way to much time is spent on describing how beautiful Edward is over and over and over and over again.¤

4) Audio CD Book Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1) by Listening Library (Audio). I think several negative reviewers forgot one thing; this book was written for 10-12 year olds. Being critical about grammar, plots, sub-plots, lengthy character development and such does NOT matter to a person of this age group. My daughter who is almost 14 could not get enough of this book. I have never seen her read a any large 498 pg book this fast (1 week). She could not put it down and this is NOT the kind of book she normally reads. She normally reads Moby Dick, Treasure Island, White Fang, and other classics; I normally read horror and murder mysteries. We fought over who got to read this book first each day. This book is not gory or graphic in any way and the sexuality is about electrical touches between hands, light kissing, and smells of each other.

Definitely rated PG. (your dreams may go beyond PG)

Yes Bella has trouble fitting in at school in the first many chapters, but this is what most adolescents feel like when they are in school. She is new and very interesting to the other students who meet her. The infatuation that several boys (3 to be exact, not including Edward) feel towards her I think helps any young person reading this to realized that they are not an outcast just because they have to move to another school. Bella is torn between her father and the lack of relationship they had and her mother who became too busy to take care of Bella in the ways a growing girl needs. Bella does indeed start to create a bond with her estranged father after an awkward first couple of days.

The Cullen´s are mysterious and dark compared to everyone else in the school, but this is what drives Bella to want to know everything about them. Bella does a lot of internal thinking that gives the feeling that you are really in her mind. She is complex and easily irritated, but what teenage girl is not? Edward is the charismatic boy vampire, with ever changing eyes, that tries everything to push Bella away, even if he has to scare her. No he does not do appropriate things that a human would do, because he is not human. For example he does not sleep, but does watch Bella sleep.

Midway through the book, the action starts to build when the antagonist James the tracker is introduced and a chase begins. Good evil vs. bad evil, and does Edward save the day, you will just have to read the book yourself and find out. You won´t be disappointed. Even I can´t wait for the movie. I just started book 2 "New Moon" and what a ride so far.¤

5) Audio CD Book Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1) by Listening Library (Audio). I first discovered the Twilight series when the fourth book, Breaking Dawn, was just hitting store shelves. I was intrigued and wanted to start at the beginning. Stephenie Meyer has created a marvelous world and her characters are VERY deep and mesmerizing. Since picking up the series in early August, I have read all four books six or seven times.
Twilight is an excellent read for the teen/young adult set it was written for, through experienced readers like myself. I HIGHLY recommend this book for people who like a very character driven story where the characters become part of your ´life´.¤

6) Audio CD Book Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1) by Listening Library (Audio). About three things I was absolutely positive:
First, Edward was a vampire.
Second, there was a part of him–and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be–that thirsted for my blood.
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

“I’D NEVER GIVEN MUCH THOUGHT TO HOW I WOULD DIE– I’d had reason enough in the last few months –but even if I had, I would not have imagined it like this. . . . Surely it was a good way to die, in the place of something else, someone I loved. Noble, even. That ought to count for something.”
When Isabella Swan moves to the gloomy town of Forks and meets the mysterious, alluring Edward Cullen, her life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. With his porcelain skin, golden eyes, mesmerizing voice, and supernatural gifts, Edward is both irresistible and impenetrable. Up until now, he has managed to keep his true identity hidden, but Bella is determined to uncover his dark secret.
What Bella doesn’t realize is the closer she gets to him, the more she is putting herself and those around her at risk. And, it might be too late to turn back. . . .
Deeply seductive and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight will have readers riveted right until the very last page is turned.¤

7) Audio CD Book Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1) by Listening Library (Audio). The book that started the phenomenon is now available in a deluxe collector´s edition! Featuring a ribbon bookmark, cloth cover, ragged edges, new chapter opener designs, and a beautiful protective slipcase, this edition is perfect for fans and collectors alike.

Bella Swan´s move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Bella´s life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Bella, the person Edward holds most dear.

Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.¤
