1) Paperback Book Ghosts Aliens by Three Rivers Press. ok. let just say, being a REAL Ultimate Power fan, when i heard this book was coming out I crapped enough logs to build a decent-sized dwelling. probably big enough to store 3 or 2 hippos.
trey, robert´s cousin, opens the book with some friggin paranormal crap right off the bat involving hot pockets and socks sliding across the kitchen floor JUST BECAUSE THEY WANT TO... they like a bunch of crap goes down and stuff just starts happening out of no where, like trey finds out hes probably an EARL and thus, most likely, the chosen dude. Pretty soon though a bunch of bullcrap happens which mimics a partial cheese web; trey probably isnt an earl after all and his journey sparks teh beginning of an apocolypse but then trey and his homie mike stevens join brain powers to stop teh apocolypse all within the same few weeks.¤

2) Paperback Book Ghosts Aliens by Three Rivers Press. This book changed my life forever. Gurgling sounds, animals that know my name, dead grandpas, and floating Hot Pockets have been a constant burden on me and my family for years. Through the teachings of this book, I have transformed myself from ghost/alien-plagued loser, to ghost/alien friggin´ bruiser. I found the workout schedule to be especially helpful, along with the little sidenotes from the Ferrari. Trey Hamburger is the best author of all time, with Robert Hamburger following a close second. Buy this book, homies, you won´t be disappointed.¤

3) Paperback Book Ghosts Aliens by Three Rivers Press. Wow. I can´t believe something so awesome got published. The whole book is two dudes running around town non-stop, chasing "Indians", hypnotizing ducks, ripping off wigs, scissor kicking warlocks. I´ve never laughed so much reading a book. It´s like the whole thing is a perfectly packaged piece of art. From the beard-movement-interpretation-diagrams to the extensive investigation into toothpaste foam and cinnamon-scented pillow to the hand-written research notes in the back, the author has meticulously created the world of a conspiracy nut. And Trey Hamburger has done something surreal by sending actual letters to professors and scientists and publishing their replies. So these real people (poor guys!) have unwittingly become players in this absurd investigation. Anybody who wants to read one of our generation´s funniest writers should definitely read Hamburger´s Ghosts/Aliens and laugh themselves silly.¤

4) Paperback Book Ghosts Aliens by Three Rivers Press. Hamburger´s slogan -- "ghost existence precedes alien essence" -- serves to introduce what is most distinctive about his research: the idea that no general, non-formal account of what it means to be an alien can be given, because that meaning is decided in and through the existence of ghosts that have yet to be captured and questioned outside of a Bill Murray film. Ghost existence is "self-haunting-in-a-situation." In contrast to other entities, whose essential properties are fixed by the kind of entities they are, what is essential to a ghost -- what makes her who she is -- is not fixed but always becoming, by choices she makes herself. The fundamental contribution of alien thought lies in the idea that one´s ability to see and interact with ghosts is constituted neither by nature nor by culture, since to "exist" is precisely to constitute such an identity. It is in light of this idea that key ghost/alien notions such as spookiness, blurriness, alienation, abduction, and "special touch" must be understood. Because ghost existence is co-constituted by blurriness and spookiness, the ghost cannot be conceived as a roly-poly entity but is embodied being-spooky-in-the-world, a self-making in situation, that is the cause of, not the result of, the shared knowledge of the alien collective.

Hamburger´s descriptive method moves from the most abstract to the highly concrete. It begins by analyzing two distinct and irreducible categories or kinds of being: the ghost-being and the alien-being, roughly the counterparts of ninjas and pirates, respectively, adding a third, the hovercraft full of eels, later in the book, and concludes with a sketch of the practice of "ghost parcheesi" that interprets the alien motivation to uncover the fundamental project that unifies our world, the martian world, and the unseen world of the spirits. Hamburger makes his argument clearly and convincingly with a delightful prose reminiscent of the simple delights found in the early works of Richard Scarry and Ed Emberly. A thought-provoking and heartbreaking tome. Five stars.¤

5) Paperback Book Ghosts Aliens by Three Rivers Press. Are you freaked out by the mere thought of a bird winking at you? Or do you panic when you hear an unexplained gurgling sound?

Well, listen to this. On Saturday, March 8, at 7:12 p.m., Trey Hamburger heard a second hand account of a teleporting Hot Pocket and started wiggin´ out bad. So he and his amigo Mike Stevens basically went into combat mode and ended up encountering some of the most seriously messed-up shit ever. And they´re STILL FREAKED OUT ABOUT IT. Now, even though these guys aren´t SCIENTISTS, it´s pretty for sure that they might have extrapolated something HUGE, which will have the intellectual community going nuts for weeks.

This is their story.

Ghost/Aliens is probably the first time ever a regular person has investigated this sort of thing. So now the people of planet Earth will finally know the truth about all those levitating towels and dead grandpas popping up all over the place.¤
