1) Paperback Book The Host: A Novel by Back Bay Books. I am a hugh fan of twilight and other short stories by Stephenie Meyer....but this book was very hard to get into. I like books to take me to a different world emotionaly. For instance Twilight made me feel euphoric and excited for the characters. This book just felt less romance and more Si-Fi. I understand that is what the author was going for but as a Twilight Fan reading this book because I like the author I was disapointed in how different it was. So It wasnt a bad book just not my type.¤

2) Paperback Book The Host: A Novel by Back Bay Books. I have never before reviewed a book without reading it, but I dislike vampire novels more than I can say. I don´t have any idea why Amazon would recommend this for me. Please do not ever include any vampire, living dead or similar books to me.¤

3) Paperback Book The Host: A Novel by Back Bay Books. I have to admit, I really enjoyed The Host. Going into it I wasn´t quite sure what to expect but was hooked after a few chapters. Some may call her female characters weak but I see quite the opposite. I think it takes the strongest of people to be so sacrificing for the ones they love. This is shown once again in The Host with Melanie and Wanderer. My only complaint is that I still didn´t feel like I was reading an adult novel. Kind of the same problem I had with the Twilight series. I wanted a little more maturity out of her writing this time around, and while the emotion was definitely there, I think her writing could still use some improvement. However, I´d still highly recommend this book.¤

4) Paperback Book The Host: A Novel by Back Bay Books. I listen to this on audio CD. It was lent to me and I loved it. It was my 1st audio and I had to go buy a portable CD player so I could listen at work I was so hooked. I found excuses to run to the store in the evening so I could listen and find out what happened next, I recommend this to anyone.¤

5) Paperback Book The Host: A Novel by Back Bay Books. this book was one of the worst I have ever read, and I wanted to finish this book because I loved the Twilight Sagas, but it was a real chore to finish this one....it dragged, and dragged and like many of the other people writing poor reviews of this book, I agree with them....This book is boring and if you are looking for a good read that makes you excited, this book is NOT for you.¤

6) Paperback Book The Host: A Novel by Back Bay Books. Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of human hosts while leaving their bodies intact. Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie´s body, didn´t expect to find its former tenant refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

As Melanie fills Wanderer´s thoughts with visions of Jared, a human who still lives in hiding, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she´s never met. Reluctant allies, Wanderer and Melanie set off to search for the man they both love.

Featuring one of the most unusual love triangles in literature, THE HOSTis a riveting and unforgettable novel about the persistence of love and the essence of what it means to be human. (2008)¤

7) Paperback Book The Host: A Novel by Back Bay Books. Amazon Best of the Month, May 2008: Stephenie Meyer, creator of the phenomenal teen-vamp Twilight series, takes paranormal romance into alien territory in her first adult novel. Those wary of sci-fi or teen angst will be pleasantly surprised by this mature and imaginative thriller, propelled by equal parts action and emotion. A species of altruistic parasites has peacefully assumed control of the minds and bodies of most humans, but feisty Melanie Stryder won´t surrender her mind to the alien soul called Wanderer. Overwhelmed by Melanie´s memories of fellow resistor Jared, Wanderer yields to her body´s longing and sets off into the desert to find him. Likely the first love triangle involving just two bodies, it´s unabashedly romantic, and the characters (human and alien) genuinely endearing. Readers intrigued by this familiar-yet-alien world will gleefully note that the story´s end leaves the door open for a sequel--or another series. --Mari Malcolm¤
