Shopaholic Takes Manhattan is a hilarious second take on the life and times of Becky Bloomwood -- my favorite out-of-control shopper who is short on cash but ready with a long list of justifications for every purchase. The madder the spending, the grander the excuse. I found myself laughing out loud and reading parts of the story to friends, who readily identified with the compulsive behavior which easily satirized our own weaknesses!

If you´ve read Becky Bloomwood´s first story, Confessions of a Shopaholic, you´ll be delighted to discover that Sophie Kinsella is not merely repeating what you´ve read before, but building on her character´s exploits to create new, hilarious situations worthy of Lucille Ball at her best. Luke´s discovery of Becky´s outrageous stash of purchases in the hotel closet is both funny and sad, but leads her to a sudden epiphany that all her once-precious extravagances were nothing but piles of useless "stuff."

Of course, there are even bigger lessons for Becky Bloomwood when her compulsive shopping leads to a rag-sheet-media expose that could cost her everything that she truly holds dear!

Shopaholic Takes Manhattan belongs on your must-read list if you are a fan of the best in chick-lit humor. I loved every page and can´t wait to read more from Sophie Kinsella!¤

The whole SHOPAHOLIC series is great and this in particular!¤

4) Mass Market Paperback Book Shopaholic Takes Manhattan by Dell. This was a great second book to the Shopaholic series. Rebecca is funny and really enjoyable to read. I already bought the next one in the series, "Ties the Knot". Cant wait to see what happens next.
