1) Mass Market Paperback Book Dead to the World (Southern Vampire Mysteries, Book 4) by Ace. I left Team Bill and became Team Eric with this book. I have read it five times. Its my favorite. I never thought anyone could leave Team Bill because Bill is the "dude".

When I have nothing to do I pull it out and just read it again. Especially the good parts.

Im really starting to hate Bill and loving Eric.¤

3) Mass Market Paperback Book Dead to the World (Southern Vampire Mysteries, Book 4) by Ace. I enjoyed this book the most of the series I think. There were just some many excellent things that occurred and they were well written. I would recommend this to others.¤

4) Mass Market Paperback Book Dead to the World (Southern Vampire Mysteries, Book 4) by Ace. I really liked "Dead Until Dark," the first of Charlaine Harris´ Sookie Stackhouse mysteries, hated its sequel, and felt (thankfully) that the third book, "Club Dead," was almost as good as the first. But this fourth in the series is the one that´s hooked me.

I love that Harris isn´t afraid to shake things up and pull the rug out from under her characters (and the reader, by extension). In "Dead to the World," plot lines careen in unexpected directions, relationships end, new ones begin, people die in sudden, violent ways. It all adds up to a darker, more intense depiction of Sookie´s world than we´ve seen before; and as she discovers the existence of stranger and stranger beings, and the stakes (no pun intended) get higher, the reading experience becomes richer.

Harris seems to have found her groove with the series, presenting the story in less comic book terms than she has before. There´s a melancholy that permeates the book, giving it a weight and depth missing from earlier installments; which is not to say that her usual wit and naughty sense of humor aren´t as hilariously in evidence. So, while I´m sorry for Sookie that her life is so up in the air, I´m very happy that Harris is back on solid ground.¤

5) Mass Market Paperback Book Dead to the World (Southern Vampire Mysteries, Book 4) by Ace. I haven´t read the last two books yet, but this book is my fav so far.¤

6) Mass Market Paperback Book Dead to the World (Southern Vampire Mysteries, Book 4) by Ace. When cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse sees a naked man on the side of the road, she doesn´t just drive on by. Turns out the poor thing hasn´t a clue who he is, but Sookie does. It´s Eric the vampire--but now he´s a kinder, gentler Eric. And a scared Eric, because whoever took his memory now wants his life.¤

7) Mass Market Paperback Book Dead to the World (Southern Vampire Mysteries, Book 4) by Ace. From Emma Bull´s War for the Oaks to Laurell K. Hamilton´s Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series, from The X-Files to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, creators are mixing old European myths and legends with modern American pop culture. Incorporating influences ranging from blaxploitation movies and erotic novels to tabloid staples like UFOs and Elvis, authors and directors are creating a new mythology for the strip-mall, tract-house, cell-phone America of the new millennium.

One of the best-known and best writers of the new American mythology is Charlaine Harris. Dead to the World is the fourth novel in her Anthony Award-winning Southern Vampire series. It continues the story of psychic waitress Sookie Stackhouse, who has fallen out with her undead lover, Bill. Bill has no sooner departed for Peru, than Sookie finds the head vampire, Eric, running naked and terrified through the rural night. She helps Eric, and discovers his memory has been destroyed by a coven of unscrupulous, astonishingly powerful witches, newly arrived in her small Louisiana town, and offering a huge reward for Eric. Sookie tries to hide Eric, but her brother sees him--and immediately disappears. And Sookie finds herself caught in a war among witches, vampires, and werewolves. --Cynthia Ward¤
