1) Mass Market Paperback Book Between the Sheets by Forever. Emma Jamison never set out to be famous. All she wanted was to maintain her own temporary-butler service and once she meets Mr. Right marry and have kids. That´s not too much to ask, is it? Apparently it is, but her last job lands her as the face of the woman who´s `services´ caused the fatal heart-attack that ended the president-elect´s life. Never mind that she never even met the man.
Emma was simply doing her job as a temporary butler when the president-elect along with his secret service staff arrived at the Mullendorf estate. She stayed cloistered in the kitchen rechecking the inventory while Ferguson and his call girl were hustled up the back stairway. She heard the banging from above stairs and thought that something was wrong with the water heater but with a secret service agent ensuring she stayed out of the way, she quickly realizes just what the squeaking means and is very uncomfortable with the situation because she knows Ferguson´s wife is out of town.
As luck would have it one of the buttons pops off her dress just as she´s preparing to leave and she tries to repair the damage with a safety pin. Seconds later there´s apparently an emergency because she´s practically ejected from the house, with her dress gaping open. The photographers waiting outside take pictures of her leaving and it isn´t until later that evening that she learns what happened.
Nobody believes she´s innocent - and she exhausts all her assets trying to prove that she wasn´t the woman with Ferguson. Left with few options, Emma makes the move to Chartreuse, Louisiana while praying for a fresh start.
D.A. Max Duveal is running for a second term in office and scandal is something he definitely can´t afford. That doesn´t stop him from taking a shine to Emma. Since her grandmother and his grandfather have apparently defied the retirement center´s `rules´ and are shacking up it´s impossible to avoid her. The more he gets to know her the more he realizes that something about the woman he´s come to know isn´t anything like how the press has depicted her. What´s even more shocking is the evidence she´s provided points to the very real possibility that she´s telling the truth and she really never met Ferguson. Dare he risk his heart and office to a woman who´s still the subject of so much public speculation?
Have you ever wondered about the women publicly humiliated after having affairs with public officials? BETWEEN THE SHEETS gives readers a new perspective about how it would be to try to live down a scandal - especially when the woman in question is totally innocent. I felt so bad for Emma over her ordeal - especially since she has such a phobia of cameras and she´s constantly being hounded by paparazzi. Max is absolutely wonderful. He could have easily ignored Emma´s plight but instead he befriends her and sets about finding evidence to prove her innocence. The couple that really did wonders on rounding out this story are Emma´s grandmother, Dorothy, and Max´s grandfather, Harold. Their spirited hijinks and matchmaking maneuvers keep this story hopping and readers laughing in glee at antics. Robin Wells tells a fast past thrilling story full of passion, laughter, tears, and a covered up politician´s sex scandal.

While Ferguson is occupied by a call girl upstairs, the Secret Service try to distract Emma. But something goes wrong and Emma finds herself being hastily run out of the house and straight into the paparazzi´s flashing cameras.
The President-Elect has a heart attack and Emma is accused of being in bed with him when it happened. Her life has been destroyed by tabloids and lies so she moves to Chartreuse, Louisiana to start over working in the retirement home her grandmother lives in. She can´t get away from the spotlight though.
Max Duvall is intrigued and attracted to Emma but he´s running for District Attorney and can´t afford any negative press. Unfortunately he can´t stay away from her. The more he gets to know her, the more he likes her, and he´s starting to wonder if maybe she´s telling the truth when she says she didn´t do it. Proving her innocence isn´t going to be easy but Max decides that if he wants any kind of a future with her, he has to help her, even if it means losing his campaign.
Between The Sheets is sexy, funny and romantic. The folks in the retirement home are very sweet. My heart went out to them as they struggled with dementia. Max is sexy and Emma is sweet. They are good together right from the start. Things seemed to go from bad to worse for Emma, but because of Max, they get better and better!

reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed¤ 3) Mass Market Paperback Book Between the Sheets by Forever. I have read most of Robin Wells books. I´ve liked most of them, but this book stands out for all the rest. The relationship between the two main characters builds so naturally and they are both likeable and real. I loved how they meet and the humor of the situation. I read this book in one night. Bravo, Robin Wells for a great story.¤ 4) Mass Market Paperback Book Between the Sheets by Forever. No one believes Emma Jamison when she swears that she is just the butler at the Mulendoff estate and not the person who slept with the married president-elect Robert Ferguson when he died from a heart attack. Instead as she tries to reclaim her wrecked reputation she loses her business and her house. Emma takes a job in Chartreuse, Louisiana at the assisted living facility where her beloved grandmother lives even though the townsfolk like all of American assume she is the happy hooker.
Max Duval meets Emma and is attracted to her, but believes she is guilty in spite of her insistence she is innocent. However Max plans to avoid the happy hooker as he is running for public office and she can only destroy his chances of winning especially since his opponent believes in negative campaigning. However, his avoidance strategy goes astray when her grandmother and his grandfather apparently become lovers; that forces him to spend time with irresistible Emma as he considers becoming the second politician he believes she slept with.
BETWEEN THE SHEETS is a fascinating contemporary romance starring a likable lead character whose reputation is ruined yet she keeps her head up high. Although insisting that she was not the he hooker, Emma is in many ways is like Monica Wolinsky who has kept her head high and has achieved plenty of earned success since her fifteen minutes of notoriety fame. The grandparents and Max add strength to a refreshing interesting character study starring a maligned yet argent heroine who holds her head up in spite of media and public ridicule (you go Monica - you earned it).

¤ 5) Mass Market Paperback Book Between the Sheets by Forever. I was so excited to read a new Robin Wells book. I love her writing and Between the Sheets may just be her best. The heroine is very likeable and someone the reader cares about. The hero is dreamy and heroic and romantic, etc. etc. The cast of other characters are fun and add so much to the story. It´s a great story with depth and emotion and humor throughout. Grams and Harold are wonderful and funny and wise. I don´t know what more I can say. It was perfect. It met all my standards for an excellent romance. I am glad Wells is writing again. How soon can she get another on the shelves?
Highly recommend.¤ 6) Mass Market Paperback Book Between the Sheets by Forever. How do you have a life when everyone in America thinks you gave the president-elect a fatal heart attack during an illicit sex romp? Emma Jamison never thought she´d have to answer that question, but here she is, smack dab in the middle of a political scandal that would make Monica Lewinsky blush. Trouble is, nobody believes that Emma wasn´t the call-girl who killed the president-to-be with her, uh, carnal skills. So Emma packs up and moves to small-town Chartreuse, LA, to escape her infamy and to start over. But when her grandmother starts dating the grandfather of district attorney Max Duval, the quiet life she was seeking blows up in smoke. ¤ Page Updated: Robert N.
