What you think should happen does;somehow the characters are not so engaging that one really cares about their plight, so it´s easy to maintain a distance. The sadness that does occur is softly wrapped up in sparkling, gossamer romantic visions, blunting any emotional ties to the characters. Easy week-end read¤
