1) Paperback Book Multicultural Education: Issues and Perspectives by Wiley. This book, Multicultural Education, is a typical example of the leftist bias in the educational field. Rather than giving the results of research and allowing the reader to form his or her own opinions as to what that research means regarding education, the authors do it for you. The funny thing is that most of the folks who read this book won´t even notice the bias, since they have never heard the other side through college, and especially through their teacher cred. program. California rates consistent Ds and Fs in education and have been trying to use this gargbage since the 60´s. What does that say? Teacher education is so full of itself that it will never admit it is a giant waste of time, and ultimately, a giant failure. I haven´t yet met a successful teacher who proscribes to this social reengineering phsychobabble, and no sucessful person in business buys it (which is what you are preparing your students for by the way). They actually tell you that individual effort should be frowned upon, that minorities should attribute their failures to their social classes, that if you want to change Title 9 and actually save your college sports team from being disbanded due to funding, you are a militant conservative, and last but not least, if you do not focus on the differences in your students, you are doing them harm. Unreal. Do yourself a favor, buy the book since you are forced to, read it with just a little part of your brian engaged so the rest is not infected, and realize that it (except for chapter 5, which was the only academic chapter in the entire book) is a giant pile of leftist garbage. IN MY OPINION. But hey, at least they got published right? Oh yeah, since I am actually afraid of speaking my mind in an industry so controlled by the left, I will repeat that this entire commentary is IN MY OPINION.¤

2) Paperback Book Multicultural Education: Issues and Perspectives by Wiley. This book and the ordering process met the need I had for my online course work. Ordering through Amazon.com is fast, simple, and straight forward. The book provides an adequate review of multicultural educaitonal practices but misses the point in a few areas. I recommend you read it for yourself and compare it to other resources to find out how.¤

3) Paperback Book Multicultural Education: Issues and Perspectives by Wiley. Good book discussing some basic issues facing teachers in multicultural settings (or any setting for that matter).

If you are already familiar with the topics covered then it´ll be a refresher. If you are oblivious to some of these ideas then this will be a good book for you.

This was a required book in my course but I bought the 5th edition as it is nearly identical, they added and removed a nonessential, testing insert for the 6th edition. I saved a lot of money by going with the previous edition which is important for many students.¤

4) Paperback Book Multicultural Education: Issues and Perspectives by Wiley. I was very impress with the material covered in this book. The authors did a thorough job from the historical perspectives of mutlicultural in this country. From the historical to current events that affect multiculture and especially multicultural education. I like the way the incorporated GT students as well as Special Ed students in this book. For these students are also found in the minority cultures and as they pointed out the are so overly represented in the Special Ed programs and not as much in the GT programs. As educators we have more work to do to make sure all students receive an equitable and quality education.¤

5) Paperback Book Multicultural Education: Issues and Perspectives by Wiley. We used this book in our doctoral level Urban Education class this semester. Very informative.¤

6) Paperback Book Multicultural Education: Issues and Perspectives by Wiley. Today´s classrooms are more diverse than ever before. In order to reach these students, educators must be aware of the issues facing their various cultural, racial, ethnic, and language groups. Focusing on the pertinent issues in multicultural education, this new edition raises these critical issues and facilitates meaningful discussion. It has been completely updated with the latest developments in the field to provide the educator with all the tools necessary to become effective practitioners.¤
