1) Paperback Book The Tao of Health, Sex, and Longevity: A Modern Practical Guide to the Ancient Way (Fireside Books (Fireside)) by Fireside. This book will change your life.

This is an excellent book exploring the "balanced and comprehensive system of health care used by Chinese physicians, martial artists, and meditators for over 5,000 years" (Cover). This is one of the most concise and precise book to a fascinating field of amazing experiences you always desired, from breathing exercises to food combining, from meditating to love making, and from energy to recovery.¤

2) Paperback Book The Tao of Health, Sex, and Longevity: A Modern Practical Guide to the Ancient Way (Fireside Books (Fireside)) by Fireside. I found most of the first part quite valuable and, having read it during the holidays, decided a good fast might offset the accumulated ´impurities´ such holidays provide. Reid is probably correct. We should not eat so much overcooked and even more, processed stuff. So I stopped that, engaging mostly in very lightly warmed foods, below temps that ruin natural enzymes. It has done wonders for my digestion and the flow (if you will) associated with it. There have been no muffins, cookies or other sweet junk since mid-January and little none-whole-grain foods. Mostly raw or lightly cooked/warmed vegetables have had a great effect. Not much of a meat eater in the first place, that too was cut some more. I seem to have endless energy and no longer the ups and downs associated with sugar rushes. An even keel feels much better. Still, I don´t go exactly by the book. One´s own common sense must play a role too.

On the other hand, the book makes some dubious claims. Ages given about folks the author mentions, seem not just unlikely, but seem not to be true. I tend to look-up almost anything on Wikipedia and there, some other facts emerge. Who cares if a guy is actually 110 years old or ´only´ 97? As author, it would be better to state the lowest ´known´ number and err on that side, than to have readers learn that the higher number is being disputed elsewhere.

Then, the idea of flushing ones intestines. While that may be of use in some exceptional cases, the idea of having a weekly or monthly such event reminds me of monthly tupperware parties etc. Were we really meant to stick a tube up our anuses to keep our intestines clean? There is one thing about blowing ones nose, but it´s an entirely different thing to do something similar with more difficult to reach parts of our anatomy, hence I believe it was probably not meant by nature. Eating certain things like dogs eat grass etc. - Okay. But all that technical cleansing - I wonder.

Common sense may be born of long histories of successful living, such as indigenous, tribal, native peoples have done for longer parts of history than even the few-thousand-years Chinese philosophy Daniel Reid promotes. It is those peoples, who have the closest relationships and knowledge of nature and how things work, something to consider when making natural life-style related decisions. Most likely, they too never had colonics, but ate in a way that such was not needed in the first place. We too may want to be more in tune here. Too many complex foods cause too many complex problems. Keeping ones meals simple seems a good idea.

Then the thing about sex. I find unedited, "f"- word-heavy comments from the Greats in our society an affront. It only shows, that they too are only little men, rather than great men. Keep the ´f´-words - even if not the author´s own - out of intelligent texts! We´re steeped in the belief, that sex must be an integral part of ones existence, our overpopulated planet seems to prove that. Yet there too, a balanced, healthy tribal existence seems to keep populations in check, something that would not be the case, were they to engage in excessive sexual conduct.

Still, this book is very valuable, if seen as part of a greater whole, and THAT we should never lose touch with.¤

4) Paperback Book The Tao of Health, Sex, and Longevity: A Modern Practical Guide to the Ancient Way (Fireside Books (Fireside)) by Fireside. Thank you so much for the great service. Everything happened the way I wanted it to and I really appreciate it.¤

5) Paperback Book The Tao of Health, Sex, and Longevity: A Modern Practical Guide to the Ancient Way (Fireside Books (Fireside)) by Fireside. this book contains such a wealth of knowledge, i am very grateful for finding it. i just happened to pick it up at a friend´s house one night and read a couple pages. then i ordered a copy for myself... i have ended up ordering about 6 or 7 copies since then, because i always end up letting someone borrow it and letting them either just keep it or give me the money for it!

anyways, this book is great, it covers breathing techniques, general diet information, sex, sleep, etc... basically anything we do, this book covers. so if you want a book that will give you many things to really go out and try for yourself, then this is the book for you. if you want just another book of vague theories then you might want to look elsewhere!

also the deal on this book is great. each section alone could be sold for the price of it! instead they´re all compiled into one nice thick book.

seriously, i am so grateful for finding it, i hope you can get as much out of it as i have.¤
