(Classic Seuss) by Random House, New York. Beautiful book, great going away present or changing life/adventure present. I find the book to be a realistic view on life, it doesn´t sugar coat the turmoils of life´s experience. However, it gives a great sense of when life doesn´t go to plan everything will be good in the end and encourages us to embrace life´s curve balls.¤ 2) Hardcover Book Oh, the Places You'll Go! (Classic Seuss) by Random House, New York. This book is great for ALL ages! I originally read this book when it was given to my dad by a friend as he was starting his own business. And now I read it to my 18-month old, who seems to love it. Maybe it´s the rhymes and the pictures that my little one loves so much right now, but the message of the book is great for ALL ages.¤ 3) Hardcover Book Oh, the Places You'll Go! (Classic Seuss) by Random House, New York. This classic Dr. Seuss book is not just for kids. It´s probably not even especially for kids. This classic book is the perfect gift for transitions: graduation, weddings, adoptions (my favorite paired with Dr. Seuss´s "Horton Hatches An Egg"), new job, getting fired from a horrible job, ....)
4) Hardcover Book Oh, the Places You'll Go! (Classic Seuss) by Random House, New York. Oh, the Places You´ll Go! is a very good graduation gift, and my traditional gift for such occasions. But in regular bookstores, the cost usually averages at $18. Now, used books are great ideas, usually about $5, but not for graduation gifts. So when these $12 per arrived in perfect NEW condition I was thrilled. Go Amazon.¤ 5) Hardcover Book Oh, the Places You'll Go! (Classic Seuss) by Random House, New York. We use this book as a completion/graduation gift for a summer program for high school students that gives them experience in working at a university-level research project. The program is called SHARP. The book edition is hardback with a color-embossed jacket, so it will hold up as a keepsake, and the kids use it as they would a yearbook--collecting autographs and keep-in-touch messages from their friends and teachers.¤ 6) Hardcover Book Oh, the Places You'll Go! (Classic Seuss) by Random House, New York. Illus. in full color. "Don´t be fooled by the title of this seriocomic ode to success; it´s not ´Climb Every Mountain,´ kid version. All journeys face perils, whether from indecision, from loneliness, or worst of all, from too much waiting. Seuss´ familiar pajama-clad hero is up to the challenge, and his odyssey is captured vividly in busy two-page spreads evoking both the good times (grinning purple elephants, floating golden castles) and the bad (deep blue wells of confusion). Seuss´ message is simple but never sappy: life may be a ´Great Balancing Act,´ but through it all ´There´s fun to be done.´"--(starred) Booklist. ¤ 7) Hardcover Book Oh, the Places You'll Go! (Classic Seuss) by Random House, New York. Inspirational yet honest, and always rhythmically rollicking, Oh, the Places You´ll Go! is a perfect sendoff for children, 1 to 100, entering any new phase of their lives. Kindergartners, graduate students, newlyweds, newly employeds--all will glean shiny pearls of wisdom about the big, bountiful future. The incomparable Dr. Seuss rejoices in the potential everyone has to fulfill their wildest dreams: "You´ll be on your way up! / You´ll be seeing great sights! / You´ll join the high fliers / who soar to high heights." At the same time, he won´t delude the starry-eyed upstart about the pitfalls of life: "You can get all hung up / in a prickle-ly perch. / And your gang will fly on. / You´ll be left in a Lurch." But fear not! Dr. Seuss, with his inimitable illustrations and exhilarating rhymes, is convinced ("98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed") that success is imminent. As long as you remember "to be dexterous and deft. And NEVER mix up your right foot with your left," things should work out. (All ages) --Emilie Coulter¤ Page Updated: Robert N.
