However, my dog was already five years old when I adopted her, and I really felt that this book was more geared towards customers who are adopting purebred puppies. There is limited information about the habits and personality of the breed, and although the health information was okay, I don´t feel it was worth purchasing this book for that information alone. And it doesn´t contain any helpful information about the miniature version of the breed.
Still, for the price, it has some useful and interesting information, and I did learn a couple of things. I doubt I will reference it often but I don´t mind having it in my collection. However, if I were to only pick one book about this breed, I would definitely select something more comprehensive.
If you are getting a purebred puppy, though, I would definitely recommend this as a good starting point. I still wouldn´t consider it to be very comprehensive, but it will give you some good pointers on what traits to look for, what to avoid, and how to care for your new puppy.. And summed up by saying Not quite was I was hoping for. Currently Australian Shepherds (Complete Pet Owner´s Manual) has an overall rating of 8 over 10.
