The book touches on the legal system and abuse where women and children are concerned. The story dives into the depths of what is not seen in abuse, making the novel at times suspenseful. Melanie´s character is so strong.
I may have read this book at the wrong time, as I found it a little dry, though the writing style was perfect. The characters are strong, but I still feel I may have missed the ´riveting´ story beneath the story!
