I´ve had this book for several months now and just had to comment that it is the ONE resource with all the information I need. Mr. Cheshire certainly knows what he´s talking about. The step by step examples really helped me get through some difficult tasks.

If you have a specific problem and need to look it up, I assume it would be fine. However, if you want to learn the product look elsewhere.¤

3) Paperback Book Special Edition Using Microsoft Expression Web 2 (Special Edition Using) by Que. As a beginner in Expression Web 2, I found this book way over my head. I thought the author presented the material in a poor order for a beginner, and I never did figure out the best starting point for me. I will have to go to the book store and browse through other books on Expression Web 2 to find one that starts at the beginning.¤

I purchased this book along with another Expression Web book by Wrox entitle "Beginning Expression Web" on the same day. While I have found both books very usesful and informative, I found Expression Web 2 by Jim Cheshire to be of much more value. While I am not new to ASP coding, I am new to Expression Web 2. I recently switched from Dreamweaver MX. Expression Web 2 has some learning curve to it. Especially in the area of database connectivity which was my main reason for purchasing both books. Special Edition Using Expression Web 2 is very well written and laid out well. The amount of detail given to the various controls is a very welcomed aspect of the book. The book has plenty of "Tip" and "Caution" side notes to ensure you that your website will work the way you want it to.
The book comes with a companion CD which includes a logo creator and sample code. I highly recommend this book to those who are just learning Expression Web. I know I will keep mine handy by my PC for quick reference for some time to come.

5) Paperback Book Special Edition Using Microsoft Expression Web 2 (Special Edition Using) by Que. I bought this book even though I have the previous version so I could get right to work using Expression Web 2, learn it´s new features and additional guidance on how to best use the program. I was very disappointed to find that this book is virtually identical to the first edition. No "what´s new in the new version", no changes other than screen shots from the first edition. The author did a find and replace to change every "Expression Web" to "Expression Web 2", added a couple of paragraphs on importing Photoshop (PSD) files, a couple of pages on the PHP update and a couple of pages on the Silverlight & Flash support. Flipping through the book I see the new features marked by a "new" icon (I counted only 6 in the entire book). While these new features may have justified a new version of the program for Microsoft they are covered in minimum detail in this 800page book. Expression web being a fairly complex program could benefit from a book that offers practical advice on workflow and how to approach a web project using this program rather than just explaining the elements of each panel and menus as this book does. Expression Web needs better guide books if it wants to play a significant roll in the future of website development. The program is powerful enough, but the learning curve is as steep as Flash, Quark or Photoshop. This book does little to flatten that curve.¤
