I was challenged and immediately motivated in my walk with the Lord. She draws wonderful pictures to illustrate truths that I have read in my own Bible reading, but never quite grasped them the way that she did, provoking me to new depths with my Savior. She also hits the nail on the head about women and their relationships with other women. After reading this book I was able to walk in love and total forgiveness with a difficult relationship in my own life. Thank you Susie Larson! Buy this book - you will not be disappointed.¤

2) Paperback Book The Uncommon Woman: Making an Ordinary Life Extraordinary by Moody Publishers. I don´t read much nonfiction, so it takes a lot to make me finish a book. It has to draw me in and speak to me personally. THE UNCOMMON WOMAN: MAKING AN ORDINARY LIFE EXTRAORDINARY did that. In the first chapter Larson describes the incident of Jesus washing Judas´s feet in such a way that I wept, and left me with a longing to rise above the pain of injury others have inflicted on me -- not only to forgive, but to serve those who have hurt me. Each chapter ends with introspection questions that bring Larson´s wisdom home and makes it personal. I highly recommend it.¤

In a time when character assassination in the home, work place or church seems acceptable, this is a must read book. Whether you´re the victim or the assassinator, Susie eloquently reminds us that "we must not forget the basin (pg.115)." To visualize Jesus-The Son of God, gently scrubbing the filth and dirt off of the feet of others as an act of unconditional love is gripping when you stop and paint the picture in your mind. We are challenged not be party to shredding the character of others be it trite or in depth. And if we are on the receiving end of being verbally abused, we are challenged to do the unthinkable--take the bowl of water and the towel and tenderly wash the feet of the accusers in return. That´s what makes an "Uncommon Woman."¤
