1) Paperback Book Writing Skills: Ged by Steck-Vaughn. I teach writing classes to adults who are studying to take their GED, and I always recommend this book above any other writing book. Steck-Vaughn actually administers the GED, and their books present everything you need to know to pass the GED. This writing book teaches grammar. The material is comprehensive, but easy to understand and well organized. Plus, all of the practice questions are in the same format as the format used on the GED.

One note, though: This book does not teach you how to write an essay; it only teaches grammar. The GED writing test requires you to know both. I have heard that Steck-Vaughn makes a "GED Essay Skills" book, but I have yet to find a copy of it. So if you want to learn how to structure an essay, look elsewhere. If you want to learn grammar, though, Steck-Vaughn Writing Skills is it. I recommend the book particularly to people studying to take the GED, but also to people who just want to sharpen their grammar skills.¤

2) Paperback Book Writing Skills: Ged by Steck-Vaughn. This book was absolutely amazing, and helped me so much with my children. I homeschool our 5 children, and it has helped tremendously to prepare them for the future. It has also given me the knowledge of what the younger children will need later in school.
