Burkett was a financial genious, so I picked the book up to see what he had to say about political conspiracy.
Well, he hit a patch of quicksand called character development... and subsequently made Dan Brown look like a good writer! This book was so poorly written, and soooo one sided for the Christian cause, talk about victimization. Burkett wishes Christians could be martyred like this. Instead our churches are crumbling into dust, destined to be museums someday like those of Great Britain and France.
And the sensitive issues he touched on...I don´t believe in gay marriage but I also don´t believe that if you declare marshall law, Castro street will flood the airwaves and carry flags with upsidedown crosses. And where the heck were any strong women characters in this book??? None, all subservient mice. And the bad guy...a really scary Arab who was the right hand man of Lucifer... yikes... 24 used that one up a long time ago.
Burkett needs to stick to numbers and not words. Economic manifestos but not Left Behind- Book 8.. And summed up by saying Why Do We Christians Write Such Trite Fiction?. Currently The Illuminati has an overall rating of 6 over 10.
