1) Paperback Book Y2K, Crying Wolf or World Crisis: W/Free Manual by Bridge Logos Pub. The title of this book led me to thimk it was an even-handed approach and rational assesment of the facts. On the contrary, after emphasizing the worst scenarios he could think of, the author goes off on a christian millenialist track expecting the end of the world as we know it. Definately a waste of my money, don´t waste yours.¤

It provided nothing new in terms of the information on the Y2K problem. The best and most useful part of the book is the extensive preparation checklist that will help anyone get ready. However, most of these checklists are available online anyway.¤

4) Paperback Book Y2K, Crying Wolf or World Crisis: W/Free Manual by Bridge Logos Pub. Easy to read and understand. Offers clear and practical steps of application. I have purchased and read six different books on Y2k. This book has truly the most balanced perspective I have read on the subject - complete with facts and documentation, yet concise and to the point. Dr. Gauss is a Christian and has, unashamedly, written the book in that perspective including scripture references. However, the book is never "preachy" and would be of value to persons of other beliefs. I especially like the "Points to Ponder" (suggested steps of action) at the end of each chapter. These assist me in applying what I´ve read to our lives. I also like the various lists included in the book - for example basic supplies, food items, first aid. I have, also, struggled with how to approach our local and state government officials and various companies regarding the Y2k issue and what questions to ask. Dr. Gauss´ book offers suggested questions I have been able to ask these people. This book is very reasonably priced and includes a free manual which is actually a 20-plus page very practical checklist. The several addendums at the end of the book alone are worth the price. For example, Addendum 2 is a list of several web sites with related information and places to receive assistance. For the above mentioned reasons and because Dr. Gauss has written his book in an "easy to understand" manner and he has taken the Y2k issue and put it into the language of the common person, I chose this book as the one to buy as a gift for each of my adult siblings and my parents. Since this is the book I´ve chosen to give my loved ones, I highly recommend it to you as well.¤

5) Paperback Book Y2K, Crying Wolf or World Crisis: W/Free Manual by Bridge Logos Pub. Mr. Gauss has written an excellent book that is easy enough for non-phd´s to understand and very readable. The book does a nice job of analyzing the risks of y2k problems and is very even-handed and I believe correct in his ultimate conclusions. (To see his conclusion one must order the book)The book is not intended only for the believing Christian, but clearly is of value no matter what your belief system. The free manual that comes with the book is worth the price of the book itself. This manual, which is a separate publication, is one of the most practical and helpful pieces I have yet seen for preparation tips and suggestions. The book does not get bogged down in excessive details, many of which will soon be out of date, but instead focuses on the main issues that y2k presents and gives solid facts to back up its disscussion and conclusions. I have read several books on y2k and this one is better than most, especially regarding practical tips. If you are a believing Christian, this book again offers some very practical advice regarding one´s focus, spiritual preparation and role regarding the church, without becoming a long-winded sermon. I highly recommend this book for anyone, and was pleased to have obtained one of the first copies hot off the press.¤
