The Goal (book) was part of our required reading for our ´Operations, Information Systems and Data Analysis´ class. Because of my hectic schedule, sitting down and reading The Goal required more time than I was willing to give. So just listening in the car on the way to work, or sitting at home laying on the couch decompressing seemed like an optimal option. They have done a great job in the narration, which helps ´getting into´ the story. The audio CD´s are high quality though there are lots of them, 11 to be exact. As far as content goes, The Goal is an excellent description of what is known as the Theory of Constraints (TOC). It helps evaluate your current process (not just in a production environment) and understand where you can improve. The interviews at the end are excellent for extending the use of The Goal to many other fields. I highly recommend it. . And summed up by saying The Goal for all. Currently The Goal: A Process of Ongoing Improvement has an overall rating of 8 over 10.
