1) Mass Market Paperback Book Unto the Breach (Paladin of Shadows, Book 4) by Baen. this is a tough book to put down. excellent story line very possible and beleivable combat.¤

2) Mass Market Paperback Book Unto the Breach (Paladin of Shadows, Book 4) by Baen. Man, I just love this series. Fantasy for guys! It just doesn´t get better than this. Until the next book in the series comes along. I´m not going to bother critiqing the book, if you´re this far in, you like ´em (or love ´em - whatever), if not, why are you wasting your time reading the reviews. Seriously hardcore action. Gotta love the scene where Oleg has his leg amputated with an axe and keeps on fighting. "Aer Keldara" indeed!

And seriously, if that seems to far out of the envelope for you, read "Nine Days of War" by Peter Stiff (non-fiction, this is for real) where a South African Defense Force NCO whose leg is shredded while fighting Terr´s in South-West (now Namibia) amputates his own leg with his knife, slaps a tourniquet on and keeps on fighting until the battle was won. That was a bit of an aside. Anyhow, I can´t recommend this book highly enough if you like the genre. Superb writing that had me glued to the book until I finished. And then I read it again!¤

3) Mass Market Paperback Book Unto the Breach (Paladin of Shadows, Book 4) by Baen. Ghost is back again, for better or worse. This book follows the now common tradition of hyper-capable lead characters backed up by completely loyal and only slightly less capable henchmen facing off against a completely brutal but not so bright enemy, both for the good and the bad.

The characters are for the most part likable and even though their victory is a forgone conclusion, I still find myself rooting for them. The story, while not stellar, is competent. The action is top notch, and stands as the best in any military fiction book I have read in a long time. The use of military jargon isn´t arbitrary as it is in a Clancy novel, and feels like real in its use. The Author clearly understands military strategy and conveys it in an interesting and captivating way.

In fact this would be a top notch book, if it weren´t for the sex. While this book tones that down significantly from it´s predecessors, it is still way to much, and way to deviant. If the Ringo could just focus on the story and the action, and leave out all the sex he would have a winner on his hands¤

4) Mass Market Paperback Book Unto the Breach (Paladin of Shadows, Book 4) by Baen. This 4th volume in John Ringo´s series beginning with Ghost is also the most straightforward. Unlike the multiple stories in Ghost, or the "spy chronicles" approach in Kildar, this book is an account of a single military campaign, starting after a bare minimum of background and plot setup. Lovers of military epics, and yes, saving the world by valor, will be pleased, as I was. You´ll find less alternative material in this volume than previous ones; your choice as to whether or not this is a positive. And more clarity is given to the saga of the Keldara, after hints covering two earlier books. Very nice!¤

5) Mass Market Paperback Book Unto the Breach (Paladin of Shadows, Book 4) by Baen. I really enjoy John Ringo´s style of writing and this character. The kind of hero that can think with his little head and big head at the same time and know when to use the right one. It proves a bit of humor to the action and makes ghost seem a little more real.
