After reading the book, I broke up with her. Three months later I met an amazing woman. After one month of dating, I gave her this book. We were married about one year later. We have been married 8 1/2 years and we are expecting our fourth child. Choosing the right spouse is so important and this book will help.¤

5) Hardcover Book Finding the Love of Your Life by Tyndale House Publishers. This is a man who seeks to take advantage of lonely people by using his Ph.D. to con people into believing he knows what he´s talking about.

1. His claims are NOT evidenced. He provides no data from any study conducted by himself nor other researchers in the field. He makes bold claims about how to find the right partner but he provides absolutely no evidence that his suggestions are to be believed.

2. His suggestions are virtually impossible to implement. Very rarely, with the exception of recommending counseling, does he answer the question "HOW". He provides suggestions like loving yourself despite your shortcomings, become in touch with your inner most feelings, etc. but provides no information about how one is supposed to actually accomplish these things. For the average person, the contents of this book won´t actually provide any help.

3. He often contradicts himself. He talks about the importance of both being able to see yourself as lovable. A chapter later, he suggests that it is important to be able and willing to change yourself to become more lovable. He argues that innate similarity crucial for compatibility between two people. He later argues that many people are often not terribly similar to begin with and that similarity most often grows and develops between two people over time. The reader is left with contradictory messages that never get resolved.

In short, because of the lack of evidence provided for the claims in the book, the fact that the author routinely contradicts himself in important ways, and because there are no actual suggestions for HOW to change one´s behavior, self, partner, situation, perspective, or whatever, the book proves to be more frustrating than useful. Go get yourself a venti iced mocha with what you would have spent on the book. You´ll be glad you did.¤
