1) Paperback Book A Woman Rides the Beast: The Roman Catholic Church and the Last Days by Harvest House Publishers. This is a book I would recommend to anyone. I read Dave Hunt´s books whenever I can and would have to say he is my favourite author. "A Woman Rides the Beast" is vintage Dave Hunt. To read any Dave Hunt book is an education in itself, and this one is no exception. I have bought copies and loaned them out. Sadly, not everyone I´ve loaned them to can handle the bare truth as it is expressed there.
Though this book is irrefutable history, and it is written with compassion and love for Roman Catholics (the dedication is to martyrs on both sides), I do not think many RCs would find it palatable. I say so having been educated as a Catholic and having tried to explain the plain Gospel to some I have known.
More´s the pity.
In a world of widespread apostasy and universal ecumenism, this book needs to be read. It´s one of those books I wish were essential reading for every school in the English-speaking world. The sad thing is, the world needs Dave Hunt´s books but it doesn´t know it! The bitter irony is, Roman Catholics need to peruse "A Woman Rides the Beast" more than anyone.
Of course, apostates and ecumenists need it too. But, by virtue of the fact that they are apostates and ecumenists, they are not likely to want to read it. Indeed, if they were to, they would probably want it censored or banned outright. Ecumenists, like political liberals, who make such a public outcry about tolerance and free speech tend to limit those liberties to those who agree with them.
"A Woman..." does not only deal with the brutal history of the Catholic Church but it also deals with its doctrines and how these doctrines are anti-Biblical and leading people to hell. And Dave Hunt compares those doctrines to Scripture.
In this book just as in his others, Dave Hunt shows how well-informed he really is. A mere cursory read of this book would show that what normally passes for journalism these days is little more than comic book narrative in comparison.
His knowledge of Scripture in itself exposes the ignorance of those "intellectual" theologians who twist the Scriptures to their own destruction [2 Peter 3:16].
As I read this book -- for I often return to it -- I always feel the same frustration that Catholics do not know this book. I feel equally frustrated that other Christians, who ought to know their own history in relation to the Vatican, don´t know it either.
If you are a Catholic, buy "A Woman Rides the Beast." If you are not a Catholic buy it still. It will waken you up to what´s gone on in history and how it has affected these very days in which we now live. It will also show you what´s going on now. And how many books do that?¤ 2) Paperback Book A Woman Rides the Beast: The Roman Catholic Church and the Last Days by Harvest House Publishers. Every Christian should read this book. It contains very valuable documentation of the Catholic church and it´s early history and "her" part in the days to come! LOVINGLY share this book with all your Catholic friends!! The Scriptures say we can know who are false teachers by their fruit and by comparing what they say to Scripture. Even the apostle Paul told believers to test his words against Scripture.
Examining the popes by this standard provides irrefutable evidence that the religion they head is a clever counterfeit Christianity that is deceiving millions. History shows that popes have been among some of the most vile murderers and adulterers to have ruled, all the while claiming to be the gatekeepers to Heaven.
One need look no further than his own copy of the New Testament to see plain-spoken evidence that the Catholic Church is promoting heresy upon heresy.
Jesus said, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
He also said, "He that BELIEVETH on him is not condemned: but he that BELIEVETH NOT is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:18)
If we cannot trust Jesus´ own words on the matter of salvation, then how can we call ourselves Christians?! Notice that Jesus did NOT say that everlasting life was to be merited by what we DO, but in whom we believe. He was the atonement for our sins, and if we trust his sacrifice (not our good works), then he promises we will be saved.
The thief on the cross had no time for confession, communion, baptism, and the like. And yet Jesus told him that he would be in Paradise that same day.
Who will we believe? Jesus Christ himself -- or the Catholic Church?
I know my answer.¤ 4) Paperback Book A Woman Rides the Beast: The Roman Catholic Church and the Last Days by Harvest House Publishers. I took some time to read some of the reviews both good and bad and found that many that posted both good and bad reviews are a little off track.
You might think that I´m anti-catholic after reading this post, but I am truly not. God loves those who love Him and I´m certain that there are Catholics that love God and Jesus as much as I do too.
Catholics defend themselves that they don´t worship Mary but what is ´hail Mary´ for then? I´ve downloaded some pictures of people bowing down to statues of Mary. What does that mean?
Someone that posted here said that if it wasnt for Catholicism, there would be no Christianity and Protestantism. That is false: Christianity existed before Catholicism - Read the book of Acts in the Bible - written before Catholicism existed. That brings up another point: of the 7 or 8 Catholics I personally know, none of them have ever read the Bible. They go to Church and perform Mass and listen to a sermon that is full of Catholic doctrine (which is not really of the Bible). When I asked them questions about the Bible, they could not answer.
Something that is very confusing is their stance on salvation outside the church. If you go to [...] and click on the link regarding ´salvation outside the church´ you´ll see they quote former Catholics - both Popes and Clergy. Most of comments quoted are all saying that there is no salvation outside the church but this website says its all ´heresy.´
My sister went to a Catholic University for one year and in one of her religion classes, she was asked to address the teacher as "father." There is no Father but God.
Another issue I have is with penance? Why ask a priest for forgiveness of sins? If Jesus died for our sins, it appears then that this was a wasted effort since we can ´buy´ our way out of our sins. Penance is what made the Catholic Church so wealthy and people fell for it because they didnt read the Bible. Personally, my forgiveness comes from Jesus and my prayers are toll free long distance calls.
Back to the book, the author does a great job of exposing many issues that need to be addressed. Along with him, I believe that this Church will raise issues again in the future and force people to join it or die. It is just a matter of time before the prophecy of Revelation 17 will come to fruition. After all, the Bible is the INFALLIBLE WORD OF GOD, and since we know that the prophecies of Daniel chapter 2 and 7 have come to fruition, there is no doubt Revelation 17 will happen to. It´s not a matter of if but when.
This book is highly recommended reading.

Back in my own anti-Catholic, conspiracy minded younger years, I read with great interest "A Woman Rides the Beast". After actually studying Christian history with a much more mature and rational mind, I discovered that much of what is found here is distorted at best. The bottom line is that, like it or not, the Catholic Church WAS Christianity (in the west at least) for the better part of a thousand years. There wasn´t a secret, underground "true church" during those centuries that in any way resembled protestantism. What Luther, Calvin, et al concocted was something that hadn´t been seen (as a discernable theology) at any point in Christendom prior to the 16th century. In short, it was the protestant "reformers" that introduced something new and suspect, not the historical Catholic-Christian church. I am not a Catholic, but I do at least acknowledge the facts of history and the Catholic church´s claim to historical/biblical legitimacy. Bible prophecy is a very sticky wicket to wade into and Mr. Hunt has stepped into a quagmire.¤ 6) Paperback Book A Woman Rides the Beast: The Roman Catholic Church and the Last Days by Harvest House Publishers.
