This book is excellent. Complete focus on outdoor wireless networks. Primary focus is 802.11-based bridging and outdoor end-user-to-AP connectivity, but information, advice and site survey content is absolutely applicable to WiMax-based networks as well. If you want to learn anything about outdoor wireless bridging site readiness and design, this book is a solid reference. Solid editing job as well with very little fluff. Highly recommended.¤ 2) Hardcover Book Deploying License-Free Wireless Wide-Area Networks (Networking Technology) by Cisco Press. Maybe just a tad bit too technical for a neewbie like me. Lots of great info.¤ 3) Hardcover Book Deploying License-Free Wireless Wide-Area Networks (Networking Technology) by Cisco Press. Great Book. The autor balances theory and practice perfectly. I just build a WISP from the scratch. I wouldn´t be able to do this as fast and good as I did without the help of Mr. Unger´s book.¤ 4) Hardcover Book Deploying License-Free Wireless Wide-Area Networks (Networking Technology) by Cisco Press. This book is a very good reference and starting point to examine the Wireless ISP business. The only problem I have with this book is that it is outdated. I knew that before I bought it. I recommend this book and it is easy to follow along.¤ 5) Hardcover Book Deploying License-Free Wireless Wide-Area Networks (Networking Technology) by Cisco Press. As an owner of a mid sized WISP, the author has captured the real life problem we experience both from a strategic and field perspective. From antenna alternatives, pros and cons of varying polarization, business issues to consider and multitudes of other factors that must be balanced to support a customer service organization delivering wireless internet services. Thanks! My entire staff was required to read this book cover to cover.¤ 6) Hardcover Book Deploying License-Free Wireless Wide-Area Networks (Networking Technology) by Cisco Press. Best practices for planning and deployment of broadband WWANs
License-free broadband wireless wide-area networks (WWANs) provide fast deployment of low-cost, high-speed "last-mile" wireless Internet access. License-free wireless technology delivers these benefits without requiring the use of products or services provided by local telephone or cable companies. WWANs enable Internet service providers (ISPs) and corporate IT managers to deploy their own cost-efficient broadband networks that deliver high-speed access for buildings and areas where traditional wired connectivity is either completely unavailable or is cost-prohibitive. Deploying License-Free Wireless Wide-Area Networks is the first book that provides complete, real-world "start-to-finish" design, installation, operation, and support information for wireless ISPs and other organizations deploying outdoor wireless WANs-including coverage of 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, and proprietary-protocol networks. This vendor-neutral book covers all brands of broadband wireless equipment and explains the principles upon which all wireless equipment is based. Inside, you´ll find step-by-step instructions and crystal-clear explanations that walk you through initial planning stages and onto full wireless network operation. End-of-chapter review questions reinforce important concepts. Whether you´re an IT director, ISP engineer, network architect, or field technician, Deploying License-Free Wireless Wide-Area Networks is your essential reference. With practical, in-depth coverage of the real-world challenges of outdoor, license-free wireless WAN deployment, this book provides a comprehensive, vendor-neutral guide to successful wireless network design and operation. ¤Page Updated: Robert N.
