1) Paperback Book Political Ponerology (A Science on the Nature of Evil Adjusted for Political Purposes) by Red Pill Press. This work has opened my eyes to todays political climate..no more does it seem that public office attracts the idealogue that wants to give back to his country and make this a better place to live. Todays politician seems to be more of a power hungry "ruling class" elitetist, public welfare be damned, who thinks of his own career and clout, who has no conscience. This author believes that there are "psychopathic" personalities that are mainstream, not just the ones we read about on the front page of the paper as serial killers. Some we interact with daily in personal and professional positions. He makes a compelling case against those that we vote into positions of power that promise one thing to get elected, then turn a blind eye to our welfare and serve themselves. After reading this book, I now see these "psychopathic"
personality types in all walks of life, and have a better chance of understanding and dealing with their brand of deception. A very timely book considering our current financial crisis and the feeling that the taxpaying public is getting screwed (´cause we are!).¤ 2) Paperback Book Political Ponerology (A Science on the Nature of Evil Adjusted for Political Purposes) by Red Pill Press. Andrew Lobaczewski makes a clear distinction between Freudian psychology and the objectivity provided by direct observations of everyday psychotherapists working with their clients and with patients in psychiatric hospitals over an extended period of time. In this penetrating book, Lobaczewski writes about the findings of two generations of psychologists, a discreet team collaborating on a study of human behavior in the ethnic cauldron of East-Central Europe during Hitler´s reign of terror and the totalitarian regime that was the Soviet Union.
The work of these psychologists, as synthesized by Lobaczewski, provides valuable information for the growing study of the effects of ambulatory ´subcriminal´ psychopaths and those with associated brain disorders and deficits on the lives of individuals, social groups, businesses, and possibly, on society as a whole. It´s a salient study of ´evil´ in its naturalistic biological state, unencumbered by the typically subjective influences of religious dogma, myth and ideology. Herein lies Lobaczewski´s outstanding contribution to this habitually neglected aspect of the human psyche.
The author succeeds at making difficult theories accessible to most readers regardless of background or training. But there is no denying, this book is a difficult read, requiring concentration and the mastery of "Some Indispensable Concepts" (Chapters II AND III). The book is written in precise detail to avoid conflation. In fact, the reader will come to recognize that conflation is characteristic of the machinations of a pathogenic mind that is egotistical, manipulative, dominating, vindictive, recognizes no need to change behaviors, and lacks a sense of guilt or wrong-doing.
Despite its curious title, "Political Ponerology" will open new vistas for inquisitive minds. Many will develop a clearer understanding of past and present, particularly with respect to recurring CYCLES OF HISTORY, often the consequence of macrosocial evil embodied in "pathocracy" -- a system of government created, wherein a small pathological minority takes control over a society of normal people.
If you perceive that the patients have taken over the asylum of political and economic life, if you objectively observe failure being rewarded while success is punished, you ARE probably NORMAL. You ARE NOT among the fewer than 10% that constitute the broad spectrum of a ´morbid minority´.
This book deserves five stars for its detailed diagnosis, but it fails to offer an immediate societal cure.
The author cites ´essential psychopathy´ (an heredity-transmitted anomaly whose role is critical in the process of generating macrosocial evil and subsequent pathocracy) and ´schizoidia´ (an heriditary form characterized by hypersensitive behavior, distrustfulness, paying little attention to the feelings of others, tending to assume extreme positions, and eager to retaliate for minor offenses) as activating a consequential cascade of latent, more common brain disorders/deficits THROUGHOUT SOCIETY that complete the process and CAN seal the fate of society for a lengthy period of time.
Contemporary psychotherapeutic agents combined with talk therapy, guided by a trained professional, may successfuly treat SOME of these consequential conditions. That is possible only IF individuals in the target groups recognize their flawed perspectives and accept treatment -- not very likely.
Less likely, given present medical technology, is the prospect of modifying the genotype of the ´essential psychopath´ and the ´schizoidal character´ in order to affect a successful cure and prevent inheritance in his/her progeny. The analogue here would be genetic modification to cure color blindness -- currently impossible but conceivably more likely since the patient would arguably CONSENT to that procedure. But the psychopath would have none of this, being fully aware that society´s losses represent his/her personal gain and enduring COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE.
In the latter pages of the book, the author (and the editor) provide practical suggestions for readers to improve their own mental hygiene and help others to successfully insulate themselves from this plausible frigid wind that once again threatens humanity.

Robert Hare´s Web Site devoted to the study of Psychopathy¤ 3) Paperback Book Political Ponerology (A Science on the Nature of Evil Adjusted for Political Purposes) by Red Pill Press. This is a very insightful book at times and a unique perspective. However, I found the book very frustrating. It is like a tv show that keeps you going with suspenseful moments, but at the end leaves one empty.
This is a very difficult book to read. It contains some of the worst psychobabble I have ever read- I have a MA in Counseling Psychology, and a lot of his terms I have never heard of. He appears to be more into labeling than explaining processes, and is definitely "Medical model". There are too few concrete examples of what he is talking about, though when they occur they are excellent. This is the frustrating part, as most of the book consists of verbosity spiced with an occasional specific reference. An example of the latter is his analysis of the corruption of early Christianity by the rigidity and authoritarianism of an imperial state, which says it all about the subsequent history of the Catholic Church. His analysis of the Neo Cons is excellent, detailed and to the point. On the other hand he describes Marx as a "schizoid" without bothering to explain. He also contradicts himself initially citing Stalin as a psychopath and later on saying he is not.
Some of his analysis are questionable. He uses the term "schizoid" a lot, but schizoids are loners, indifferent to praise and pursue solitary interests. This is not the type of anyone in an influential position, authoritarian or not. He totally ignores the narcissists a category which beautifully fits many if not most US politicians.
I made it through three quarters of the book and got to the editors footnote that said that smoking may make people less susceptible to political evil, and that second hand smoke may make children less vulnerable. This being why, he claims, the Nazis and the US campaigned against smoking. That was too much, enough was enough.
Much better books on this subject are: Wilhelm Reich, The Mass Psychology of Fascism; Alice Miller, For Your Own Good; H.G.Wells, The Road to Wiggan Pier; and, of course, his 1984. Alice Miller analyses the mentality of the Third Reich using the child rearing texts of the parents of that generation.¤ 4) Paperback Book Political Ponerology (A Science on the Nature of Evil Adjusted for Political Purposes) by Red Pill Press. As George Carlin once said, "Power never investigates itself." The author gets around this by saying, we should do this, and we should do that... Come on, will psycopaths willingly lay down on the couch and take therapy? Author makes a lot of "We should" or "society should" but wishful thinking won´t make it happen. There was a lot of good information here but a frustrating book because of the naivete.
For the best book in "evil," read the last chapter of Demons by Dostoevsky. Psychotics are beautifully summarized in the last chapter. When the Monk reveals the truth to Stavrogin, what is the evil´s response? Curse the truth.¤ 5) Paperback Book Political Ponerology (A Science on the Nature of Evil Adjusted for Political Purposes) by Red Pill Press. As I understand, the odds of this extensively researched book being published were slim to none. It attacks the system -- whatever name or ideology it may go by, be it "communism" or "democracy = free market reign [yeah, right]" -- at its very core.
The book exposes the true perpetrators of evil and deviance on the planet -- psychopaths -- and the psychological mechanisms via which the control over the population is instituted and maintained. AFAIK, it is the only book out there that puts all the available information into a coherent whole which has far-reaching implications. No wonder such knowledge would be considered dangerous and would be suppressed by all means available.
The author, Andrzej M. Lobaczewski, had been through hell and beyond, and I applaud his determination and wisdom. The publisher, RPP press, is no less deserving of praise: editing this book, supplementing it with comments on recent research and bringing it to us readers is truly an act of service to humanity.
The book is written in an academic style, appropriate for the complex ideas that it conveys. It is not a light read; prepare to dedicate time to it and come back to the important passages. It will surely be a time well spent.¤ 6) Paperback Book Political Ponerology (A Science on the Nature of Evil Adjusted for Political Purposes) by Red Pill Press. The first manuscript of this book went into the fire five minutes before the arrival of the secret police in Communist Poland. The second copy, reassembled painfully by scientists working under impossible conditions of repression, was sent via a courier to the Vatican. Its receipt was never acknowledged, no word was ever heard from the courier - the manuscript and all the valuable data was lost. The third copy was produced after one of the scientists working on the project escaped to America in the 1980s. Zbigniew Brzezinski suppressed it.
Political Ponerology: The scientific study of Evil adjusted for Political Purposes was forged in the crucible of the very subject it studies. Scientists living under an oppressive regime decide to study it clinically, to study the founders and supporters of an evil regime to determine what common factor is at play in the rise and propagation of man´s inhumanity to man.
Shocking in its clinically spare descriptions of the true nature of evil, poignant in the more literary passages where the author reveals the suffering experienced by the researchers who were contaminated or destroyed by the disease they were studying, this is a book that should be required reading by every citizen of every country that claims a moral or humanistic foundation. For it is a certainty that morality and humanism cannot long withstand the predations of Evil. Knowledge of its nature, how it creates its networks and spreads, how insidious is its guileful approach, is the only antidote.¤ Page Updated: Robert N.
