1) Audio CD Music The Wizard Of Oz: Selections From The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM). We did a Wizard of Oz theme for our car for "trunk or treat" where we decorate vehicles in the parking lot of the school and the kids walk from vehicle to vehicle for candy. We played the soundtrack from the car and it worked out great. Even now when we are driving from here to there, my 9 year old puts the cd in and we sing like fools along with the soundtrack.¤ 2) Audio CD Music The Wizard Of Oz: Selections From The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM). My five year old daughter will be in a theatrical production of the Wizard of Oz at our local college in March of 2009. She is a munchkin and one of the Lullaby League girls. I purchased this soundtrack for her so she could practice the songs she will have to sing in the play. Every song is on the soundtrack. My daugher absolutely loves practicing along with Judy Garland´s beautiful voice and all of the original songs performed with the legendary performers. Delivery couldnt have been faster. Always great to receive something a full week before the estimated arrival date!!! I was very disappointed with this purchase. The sound quality is terrible! I had to turn it down during the music sequences and crank it up to hear anyone singing. My only wish was that it came with the guard chant as they march in front of the castle. Lions and tigers and bears, the yellow brick road, gamboling midgets, warnings scrawled high above by a skywriting witch: No movie ever imprinted itself on young imaginations or endured in adult memory more than MGM´s classic 1939 musical, and no movie score ever hooked as forcefully into our collective cultural memory. This exemplary soundtrack finally treats this deserved classic to a thoughtful and comprehensive rendering (an even more detailed, expanded version was also released simultaneously as a deluxe box) that confirms the enduring power of Harold Arlen´s original music and E. Y. "Yip" Harburg´s lyrics. On film, the songs unreeled as a mixture of discreet songs and multi-themed medleys with frequent reprises, a presentation preserved here, epitomized in the "Munchkinland Musical Sequence." If not as concise as Bobby McFerrin´s legendary, hilarious concert compression of the entire musical story, this telling of The Wizard of Oz relives the film just as vividly.
