Seefried, too neglected and strangely forgotten in the ocean of CD-reissues of older performers, presents a level of artistry which will never be surpassed, perhaps not even equalled. Her effortless, distinct and absolutely natural rendering of the arias and songs here is quite marvellous, in the true sense of the word. Each word is heard, each musical phrase is presented with the utmost simplicity and thus the more hearfelt. I am so happy to be able to indulge these wonderful performances again and again. I can only wish someone gets going reissuing her other recitals, for example the lovely one with Mussorgsky´s Children´s songs.. And summed up by saying Great style.
