1) DVD DVD Little Big Man by Paramount. Dustin Hoffman is great in this classic Western. It´s one of the best Westerns out there. Hoffman plays a cavalry man who ends up living among the Native Americans. It´s a bitter story of how poorly and unjustly were these people treated. Unfortunately, they´re not faring much better today and the government does not treat them better either. There are some truths in this movie that we´re still not willing to face and come to grips with today. This should be a required material for school kids and grown ups alike. We´d be much more grateful for what we have instead of complaining for what we can´t buy if we thought about these things more.¤ 2) DVD DVD Little Big Man by Paramount. This is probably my favorite Dustin Hoffman film. Although he is a great drama actor, he excels in comedy. He did this one masterfully.¤ 3) DVD DVD Little Big Man by Paramount. Brilliant, daring film. Part comedy, part parody of every Western genre, and mostly biting commentary on the treatment of Native Americans. Superbly acted with a standout performance by Richard Mulligan as a smug yet crazy General George Armstrong Custer.¤ 4) DVD DVD Little Big Man by Paramount. Sometimes a film comes out that is simply a timeless piece of work, Such is the case for "Little Big Man" Dustin Hoffman shows that he is a true master of timing and along with his dramatic roles that he is a very sound comedian. This is a timeless film, rates with my all time favorites.¤ 5) DVD DVD Little Big Man by Paramount. Nothing to say. It´s a great movie and the DVD was in excellent shape.¤ 6) DVD DVD Little Big Man by Paramount. In this sweeping epic that swings from high comedy to drama a 121 year old survivor of custers last stand narrates his colorful life story. He tells of everything from his adoption by cheyenne indians to his marriages & friendships with wild bill hickok. Jack Crabb is the only white survivor of the Battle of Little Big Horn and the centenarian shares his story in this picaresque fable of the Old West. In Arthur Penn´s adaptation of Thomas Berger´s novel, Dustin Hoffman plays Jack from teen years into old age in a bravura performance. And Jack´s story is a fantastic one: captured by Indians as a boy, reared as an Indian, shuttling back and forth between the white and Indian worlds. In the process, he befriends everyone from Wild Bill Hickock to George Armstrong Custer and is a gunslinger, a snake-oil salesman, and an Army scout. This is a solid blend of comedy and tragedy, with a strong statement to make about America´s treatment of Native Americans without sermonizing. A terrific cast includes Faye Dunaway, Martin Balsam, and Richard Mulligan. But this show is all Hoffman´s. --Marshall Fine¤ Page Updated: Robert N.
