1) DVD DVD Spider-Man (Widescreen Special Edition) by Sony Pictures. I was very happy, the item was shipped on time and in the condition promised.¤ 2) DVD DVD Spider-Man (Widescreen Special Edition) by Sony Pictures. What an odd way to describe a Spider-Man movie of all things huh? Well, let me explain.
After I saw Spider-Man 3 in 2007, the disgusting display of incompetent film making and lazy attempts to make money and simply get by on the name alone, left me with nothing but a raging hatred in my core for everyone involved in that abomination of a movie. Watching part 1 again reminded me of how magnificent this franchise used to be. I can´t believe these characters that I fell in love with- Peter Parker, Mary Jane, Aunt May, Harry, J. Jonah Jameson, are people that I actually wanted to commit felony acts of violence against in part 3 (particularly Mary Jane and Harry). It was so bad and personal, that I even said that if they continue making more Spider-Man movies in the future, that I would like nothing more than Kirsten Dunst NOT to return (a complete contrast to my views of her in parts 1 and 2, where I loved her). Seeing part 3 even made me second guess myself as to whether the first two actually deserved perfect 10s as I originally scored them. Well, seeing them again reminded me that they ABSOLUTELY deserve 10s, and that´s why I´m writing this review. I´ll stick to talking about part 1 here.
**Great job adapting the comic to the big screen. They captured the campy humor of the comics perfectly, with lovable corny one-liners done just well enough to be corny, but not excessively that it becomes a joke.
**At it´s core, this movie is basically a love story about a nerd awkwardly trying to win over the girl he loves, with things getting a tad bit complicated having to deal with the fact that he´s got superhuman powers. This is a romance story story running parallel to a superhero movie, and it´s interwoven with expert craftsmanship, it completely engrosses you.
**I´ve gotta give it to Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, they did some great acting here. All of their scenes feel so genuine. Who can´t relate to those little moments that they had together? Like every time they happen to meet up by chance, they would say "Oh hey!!!" with a genuine look of surprise as their faces light up with happiness, followed by awkward, nervous conversation masked by their smiles, with Peter consciously making sure to minimize dead air in the conversation. Again, the most authentic thing in all of this is the "oh hey!!!" part. Not sure about everyone else, but in my experience, this is THE default greeting between a male and a female that are moderately close, upon unexpectedly meeting each other (less close could result in a simple, less upbeat, "hey what´s up," and more close could be running up and giving them a hug).
**There´s a certain *simplistic nature to this movie that you become fond of. There´s a very dense, linear approach that pretty much forces you to love the characters, and want to see the nerd win the girl, and save the day.
**If I had to do one thing differently, I would change the Green Goblin´s costume. It was too over the top and cartoonish, they should´ve modernized the look, make it look like something that would be issued by the military for combat. They wouldn´t wear a mask that looked like that..
Parts 1 and 2 compared to part 3 are like day and knight. Regardless of The Dark cloud which is part 3 hanging over this franchise, these first two installments are the best superhero movies made in terms of pure enjoyment.¤ 3) DVD DVD Spider-Man (Widescreen Special Edition) by Sony Pictures. This movie is two hour and one minute long and was released on May 3, 2002. The movie mainly introduces us to Peter Parker and how Spiderman came to be and how the murder of his Uncle Ben was the main turning point to become the hero Spiderman. We are introduce to the Green Goblin in Spiderman 1. The movie does stay focus; one hero and one villian, unlike Spiderman 3 where we have three villians. The one area this movie lacks is action. There are only two action scenes, maybe one more. When I was watching the video at home, I kept switching the off and on button. I just could not get into this movie.¤ 4) DVD DVD Spider-Man (Widescreen Special Edition) by Sony Pictures. This Was A Great Movie. Real Emotional And Suspenseful. This Was When Peter Parker First Turned Into Spiderman. With A Single Bite From A Spider, The Chemical Fused Into His Cell´s, Causeing Him To Shoot Web´s Out Of His Wrist, And Discover New Super Move´s. He Later Had To Face The Green Goblin, Witch Was Harry´s Father, And Harry Is Parker´s Best Friend.
This Was A Wonderful Movie With Meaning In It. This Was Real Enjoyable, Not A Waste Of Time.¤ 5) DVD DVD Spider-Man (Widescreen Special Edition) by Sony Pictures. Spider-man is a hugely popular film franchise, and it´s not without good reason. The first film is great with good acting, great special effects and music, and a great starting point for the story. It involves Peter Parker getting bitten by some kind of genetically enhanced spider, giving him the famous powers Spider-man is known for. After that you get the green goblin involved (a guy who does a science experiment on himself... but it doesn´t go so well) and you have some good fight scenes and some cheesy but funny lines. There are a few particularly memorable scenes, the cage fight near the film´s beginning being one of them. So overall I highly recommend Spider-man to anyone who likes action movies and now that it´s offered for such cheap prices you barely have any excuse to not see it!¤ 6) DVD DVD Spider-Man (Widescreen Special Edition) by Sony Pictures. A shy intelligent outcast teenager is accidentally bitten by a genetically engineered spider. Suddenly he is empowered with the speed strength and agility of a spider transforming him into an extaordinary hero. For devoted fans and nonfans alike, Spider-Man offers nothing less--and nothing more--than what you´d expect from a superhero blockbuster. Having proven his comic-book savvy with the original Darkman, director Sam Raimi brings ample energy and enthusiasm to Spidey´s origin story, nicely establishing high-school nebbish Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) as a brainy outcast who reacts with appropriate euphoria--and well-tempered maturity--when a "super-spider" bite transforms him into the amazingly agile, web-shooting Spider-Man. That´s all well and good, and so is Kirsten Dunst as Parker´s girl-next-door sweetheart. Where Spider-Man falls short is in its hyperactive CGI action sequences, which play like a video game instead of the gravity-defying exploits of a flesh-and-blood superhero. Willem Dafoe is perfectly cast as Spidey´s schizoid nemesis, the Green Goblin, and the movie´s a lot of fun overall.
