1) Paperback Book Visual Basic Developer's Guide to COM and COM+ by . This book provides a good overview of the techniques you will need to utilize COM and COM+ functionality in Visual Basic. The sample programs actually work, unlike many similar books, and everything is explained in reasonable detail.

The one problem I have with this book is that the author chose to include information on the IMDB, which he knew at the time would not be included in the release version of Win2000. It is a little frustrating to see what could have been and also takes up pages that could have been devoted to more detail about the Component Services system.

If you´ve used Classes in VB, you know all you need to know to start taking advantage of the secrets this book will reveal to you.¤

2) Paperback Book Visual Basic Developer's Guide to COM and COM+ by . I have developped com objects for a while and have decided to migrate to Visual Basic. I found this book vague, but well written. Not enough practical material was covered. Much more attention to detail would´ve made this book better.¤

3) Paperback Book Visual Basic Developer's Guide to COM and COM+ by . COM (Component Object Model) is Microsoft´s standard for building enterprise applications that can be run over the network or the Internet. COM+ is an enhanced version of the standard for Windows 2000. This book gives experienced Visual Basic developers everything they need in order to develop sophisticated applications that take advantage of what COM has to offer. Up to now, COM has been a mysterious topic for VB programmers, but Wayne Freeze (author of Sybex´s Expert Guide to Visual Basic 6) makes the topic understandable through practical examples.¤
