1) DVD DVD Sandwiches That You Will Like by Wqed Multimedia. I love this documentary. It makes you want to take a road trip around the United States and try every regional sandwich shown. The interviews with the sandwich eating public definitely make the video what it is.¤ 2) DVD DVD Sandwiches That You Will Like by Wqed Multimedia. I am NOT one to sit down and watch a movie, but while I was flipping through the television one day a long time ago this show was playing on PBS. Not only was I enthralled enough to sit and watch it then, but several times over the next few weeks while it aired. Recently I just put it on my Netflix listing, watched it repeatedly until my husband made me mail it back so I had to breakdown and buy it. You can eat a full four course meal, watch this DVD and find yourself craving one of the sandwiches. My husband, the chef in the family, is constantly trying to recreate some of my favorites. This DVD is absolutely wonderful!! Try "A Hot Dog Program" too!¤ 3) DVD DVD Sandwiches That You Will Like by Wqed Multimedia. "Sandwiches That You Will Like" is a great little DVD that has no slow parts: you keep anticipating the next location (eating joint) and their specialties,and there are lots of them in this presentation (this is a movie length documentary).
I´m hoping the producers bring out a follow-up DVD: Sandwiches You Will Like II. I personally know of at least 25 other great (not good, but great) sandwich joints that were not included and I´m assuming there are many others I know nothing about: the subject format must be readily abundant! Don´t miss the special features section (DVD only).
CAUTION: Eat before viewing! This DVD will make you so hungry you´ll eat anything: a tree bark sandwich will even sound good! I still think the hot dog one is the most interesting, and thematically coherent, but this one contains some nice discussion of the way that great sandwiches are true uniters.¤ 6) DVD DVD Sandwiches That You Will Like by Wqed Multimedia. It’s America between two slices of bread! It’s a fast-cut, slightly goofy celebration of some great sandwiches at some very interesting places from Pennsylvania to California. Have a pastrami in New York City. Sample a Maid Rite "loosemeat" in Iowa, a St. Paul sandwich in St. Louis, and a chipped ham "Slammer" in Pittsburgh. How about barbecued brisket in Texas? Or Italian beef in Chicago? Try a muffuletta and several shrimp and oyster po-boys in New Orleans. And see why folks in Buffalo go for a beef-on-weck while people in Louisville love a Hot Brown.
