1) Magazine Magazine The Economist by The Economist Newspaper Group, Inc.. I ordered The Economist thru Amazon/Synapse on May 24. I am writing this review on Aug. 6, and I still haven´t received my first issue of this subscription. After I got into the online order process I saw a note saying start of delivery would take 4-6 wks. I thought that was a long time, but I decided to go ahead with the order anyway. Eight wks later when my first issue still hadn´t shown up, I called Synapse to follow up. The next week (July 27) they sent me an email saying my order had been lost, and they were resubmitting it. Allow another 4-6 weeks. Save yourself unnecessary hassle--order your magazines directly from the publisher.¤

It has the best concise coverage of news around the world. Its business and economics coverage caters well to my interest in both. I recommend The Economist to any educated intelligent reader who wants to be informed of all major political and business developments around the world in a concise weekly format.¤

As a keen reader of the Economist I placed my order on May 26th and am still awaiting my first copy, it´s now July 23rd and still no Economist! The star rating given is not for the magazine itself (that gets a 5 star) but the none delivery of it!¤

Moreover, given the way in which my subscription was marketed through Amazon, I do not have effective recourse to any grown up authority to whom I might complain. This is has been a bad experience which I do not intend to repeat. Other subscribers need to be aware that lower subscription prices and better service is available elsewhere.¤
