1) Paperback Book Just a Couple of Days by Harvest Books. It´s been a while since I read this one, but I remember loving it when I read it a few years back. (Many books I read have left no impression after a few years, or a bad one, so this is high praise from me.) Extremely well written, and a joy to read. (Makes you break out the dictionary from time to time, but not in a pretentious way.) Not to mention the story is great, entertaining from start to finish. A book that tickles both sides of the active brain, I can´t believe this guy isn´t famous yet.¤

2) Paperback Book Just a Couple of Days by Harvest Books. I just loved this book. I´ve read it twice since first discovering it at Borders (ironically because I liked the cover design) For a first book from the author, this is in a word, mindblowing. The plot, which has a new twist around every corner, is fantastic, but what really hooked me were the deeply detailed and human characters. I got so wrapped up in this book that the people acting out this strange scenario became more real than the world around me. Without giving anything away, I´ll just tell you to read it for yourself. It´s far more interesting than an Amazon review.¤

3) Paperback Book Just a Couple of Days by Harvest Books. Flake, the narrator of this story, is a vaguely cynical geneticist, doing research for a university. His best friend, Blip, is a professor of sociology at the same university. Blip is entirely without cynicism; he is a grown-up flower child living with his hippie wife and their delightful young daughter.

Flake has valuable skills as a geneticist, and therefore is recruited by the sinister university president to work on a secret project--creating an antidote to a new viral weapon formulated by the government.

Before he is able to begin his research, though, chaos erupts, forcing Flake to rethink the nature of this new virus, and the nature of the relationships among individuals in society.

There were some interesting ideas in this book, about communication and relationships, about scientific research and religion and evolution. There was also a fair amount of fluff and some overly pretentious language in this story. My major problem with it, though, was the fact that I didn´t find Flake particularly likable. I didn´t find his situation all that urgent, as I didn´t much care about his freedom from captivity or from disease.¤

4) Paperback Book Just a Couple of Days by Harvest Books. I haven´t laughed so much reading a book since Hitch-hiker´s Guide to the Galaxy. My grim apocolyptic fears haven´t had such a tickle since Dr. Strangelove. Vigorito is a smart, funny writer. He weaves his words; sometimes guiding the readers, and sometimes pulling us kicking and screaming up and down the walls of his simultaneously profound and silly contemplations. As cliche as it is, I laughed, I cried, and I cried laughing. My mind is an easier place to hang out in after its self-importance being so cleverly examined. Thanks for a great read, Tony V!¤

5) Paperback Book Just a Couple of Days by Harvest Books. When? In Just a couple of days.......you may read a pretty damn good book after you buy it. This is a quick witted delight to read. Moreover than his humorous characters Tony´s knowledge of sociology, biology, philosophy, and ethics in question.... makes for a good read. But Im not done....... so Im going to get back to reading now¤

6) Paperback Book Just a Couple of Days by Harvest Books. You are invited to the party at the end of time...

An ambitious and exuberant antidote to the end-of-the-world blues, Just a Couple of Days has established itself as the underground classic of this generation. Hilarious, poignant, and delightfully subversive, this visionary satire of the apocalypse has been called "a Dr. Strangelove for the biotech century."

If words could dance, this is the story they would tell.¤
